Early morning Barton Springs Swim Report 4/9/23

First swim in some time. So many things interfering with my swimming these weeks, including pouring rain & lightning. I’ll swim in the rain but (thanks to an influential safety pamphlet of my youth) never at the merest hint of lightning. I don’t know how I’ll die but I prefer not to be cooked sous vide. Got to the pool at 6:30 this morning & for a while I was the only one there, apart from a man meditating on the lawn. The garbage cans were all on their sides (perhaps so as not to fill with rainwater). The diving board had been taken down; I don’t know why. The Egyptian goslings, all four, are adolescent, marching as much as geese march, one parent fore & one aft.
